The competition to determine the best sketch design for a memorial composition in the “Verbovyi Gai” Park in the Dniprovskiy district of Kyiv

In preparation for the installation of a memorial to the passengers and crew of UIA flight PS752 who died in the sky in Tehran, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) and Safe Sky Charity Found, with the support of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, are announcing a competition to determine the best sketch design for a memorial composition in the “Verbovyi Gai” Park in the Dniprovskiy district of Kyiv.
The expansive horizon of the park, the width of the Dnipro River and the endless sky that lies directly on the water, of this is the best location to honor the memory of the angels who went to heaven forever on January 8, 2020.
Ukrainian and foreign sculptors, architects and landscape architects, as well as teams of specialists are invited to participate in the competition.
It is the duty of Ukraine, as well as other counties whose passengers were innocently killed by military missiles in the Iranian sky, to recreate history in art and not allow answers to be lost over time. Why did these people die? Why the Ukrainian plane was shot down? When will the guilty be punished? The landscape memorial composition is designed to preserve this memory.
The jury will include: 
-        Oleksandr Svystunov (Architect, Director of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Kyiv City State Administration); 
-        Oleksandr Chyzhevskyi (Chairman of the Chamber of Architecture of Ukraine); 
-        Oleksandr Moskovchuk (Chairman of the Kyiv Organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine); 
-        Serhii Dobrovinskyi (Architect, winner of the NSAU Award competitions); 
-        Kail Hallakher (Ireland, Landscape Architect, Head of SKG Landscape); 
-        Mariush Schislo (Poland, Vice-President of the Union of Architects of Poland, Head of FSP “Arcus”); 
-        Yevhen Dykhne (CEO of UIA); 
-        Anna Mishchenko (Head of the Safe Sky Foundation).
With the consent of the jury, the following are also invited: 
-        Rostyslav Kisil (member of the Supervisory Board of the Safe Sky Foundation); 
-        Orest Sohar (member of the Supervisory Board of the Safe Sky Foundation); 
-        Kateryna Odarchenko (co-founder of the Safe Sky Foundation); 
-        Henadii Chyzhykov (member of the Supervisory Board of the Safe Sky Foundation); 
-        Representative of the Embassy of Canada; 
-        Representative of the Embassy of Iran; 
-        Representative of the Embassy of Sweden.
Legal correctness of the procedure, transparency of competitive selection is provided by a member of the Supervisory Board of the Safe Sky Foundation Oleh Malinevskyi, lawyer, partner of the legal association EQUITY, Vice President and Chairman of the Judicial Practice of the Ukrainian Bar Association.
Gagik Nersesyan, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Safe Sky Foundation, an audit and business development partner and founder of the Baker Tilly Ukraine group of companies, ensures the transparency of the expenses related to the competition.
